|Decades after it made its debut at the 1948 Earls Court motor show, it’s hard to imagine the impact the Jaguar XK120 had when it was first unveiled. Here was a car that could achieve 120mph thanks to its all-new 3.4-litre XK straight-six engine – an incredible speed in an era when most mainstream family cars could manage little more than half this.|
Even more incredibly, the XK120 wasn’t really intended for production at first; it was effectively a concept, designed to showcase that impressive new power plant. When Jaguar was inundated with orders it had little choice but to put the car into production.
This stunning example was originally shipped to New York in 1952 and repatriated in 2005 as a solid running restoration candidate for the famous James Sidwell and Co to restore into one of the best XKs possible.
The project took around 3 years and included utilising as many original parts as possible including the engine but some subtle updates to include 5 spd gearbox,xk150 brakes and steering rack etc.
All work is documented including a comprehensive photo gallery and is to above original factory standard with exemplary panel fit and paint finish resulting in an excellent driving XK120 that can also be showcased to any high standard.
Having had only two UK owners she has covered a few thousand miles since the work and is ready to use on any type of journey especially effortless long distance cruising
Finished in Jaguar white gold with red leather and MWS chrome wire wheels she presents beautifully and has a good history file inc Heritage Certificate
