1959 Austin A40 Farina
25,000 miles
Austin certainly had the knack of designing and building some world beating cars in the late fifties.

With the iconic status of the Mini it is easy to forget the terrific little Pinninfarina designed A40 especially as it was one of the first true

Hatchback cars in its day!

These little beauties were produced for just under 10 years and the MK 1 version here is certainly the pick of the bunch as it was built for only three of those years.

As well as the practical uses they soon entered competition and even today you can see them Giant Slaying Big Jags at Goodwood with their well balanced chassis.

This example has only has two owners for the first for 52 years and has an amazing history file with old Mots dating back to the 1960’s and even the original BMC warranty Certificate.

There are lots of service invoices all providing verification of the low mileage.

She drives beautifully with a willing engine and easy to use gearbox, what a delight!
