1961 MGA 1600 Coupe – SOLD

1961 MG A Coupe Mk 11 supplied new in the uk with a heritage certificate and only 2 owners from new (registration included).

The MG T series was beginning to look a little long in the tooth and by the early 1950s MG required a new fresh design.

The MG A was finally launched in 1955 and was soon a great success with most of the production volume being exported to the USA.

It was soon clear that the original 1500 engine required more power and so the 1600 was released and offered more sprightly performance.

The final version was the 1600 MK 11 we are offering and only 500 MK 11 Coupes were built making this an extremely rare offering of the brand.

With only 2 owners from new this example was restored in the 1990s and still looks fresh and rust free today with a delightful worn in patina.

The paintwork is bright and blemish free with a contrasting beige interior feeling used but in perfect keeping with the originality of the car.

The valuable original registration number is also included in the price.

On the road she feels brisk and taught with a positive gear change and all controls working well making this a feel good driver you could take off and drive anywhere.

MG As have long been ignored but recently they have become a well sort after investment and with only 500 of this version built this 2 owner car must be a superb investment candidate.
