Triumph TR4 A IRS

1966 • 82,000 Miles • SOLD

By 1968 the TR range was becoming quite old fashioned especially as its closest rival MG had a more modern “chassis less” model that was
cheaper and produced easily in much greater numbers.
So by 1968 Triumph began to move onto the 6 cylinder TR5 and 6 models finally ending the 16 year production of 4 cylinder engines.

This beautiful UK supplied always rhd example is one of the last produced and has only had 6 owners the last one for 28 years and has enjoyed ongoing maintenance and a thorough restoration in the 1990s including an engine and gearbox rebuild then hardly used since.

The quality of the work was obviously to a high standard as the car is still in great condition today with very good paintwork and chassis.

She is fitted with wire wheels, overdrive, rare Surrey top with the all important IRS rear axle.

There is a comprehensive history file with many specialist TR dealers having worked on her during the past 20 years and a full photo record of the restoration.

On the road this is a throaty raw car with a good solid robust feel to it and performance is very good the overdrive providing an easy cruising speed.

She is a quintessential British sports-car that can only appreciate in value and must be one of the nicest available.

Supplied fully inspected, serviced and with a 12 month warranty.
