For sale – 1980 Triumph Dolomite Sprint – SOLD

Triumph were on a roll with a range of cars suiting most needs in the 1970’s.

The only one they didn’t have was something to challenge the BMW 2002 which had taken the world by storm with its compact design and super sporty performance.

The engineers soon designed and built a multi valve engine and upgraded the gearbox, chassis and brakes and ended up with a super compact, fast, fun BMW challenger.

The engine even won Design Council awards and at around £1000 cheaper than a 2002 this car was a force to be reckoned with even Bodie drove a white one in the tv programme The Professionals!

This example is one of the last built and has been used sparingly over the years hence a total mileage showing of only 63000 mls.

She had a professional restoration around 1996 and there is a photographic and invoice record of this and all subsequent work .

The quality of the work evident still 18 years later.

Today she is a pretty bright car with a lovely interior and ready to be enjoyed on a daily basis.

There are original service books and handbooks along with service invoices and a total of only 4 owners in 34 years!

Still a joy to drive today despite her age with 0-60 around 8 seconds it keeps up with any modern traffic and feels sporty with a well developed chassis set up ,no doubt assisted by the many race versions that were campaigned successfully.

Great value with only a few ever available for sale this will sell very quickly.

…the Sprint must be the answer to many people’s prayer. It is well appointed, compact, yet deceptively roomy. Performance is there in plenty, yet economy is good and the model’s manners quite impeccable … Most important of all, it is a tremendously satisfying car to drive.
