1985 BMW M6 – Sold

How many road cars have a genuine race bred engine fitted that is state of the art and fully reliable in the real world.

That is what BMW achieved with the Quad cam 24 valve Masterpiece fitted in the M6 and M5.

This engine made a fairly average Coupe into a Supercar!

BMW always had the knack of producing something special and the M car division certainly achieved this time and time again.

Nelson Piquet drove an M6 in a BMW promo video around the Paul Ricard Circuit and it proved to the world that BMW meant business with their road cars and had moved into F1 Motorsport in a big way.

This car has only covered 68,000 miles with 4 owners and has a complete BMW service history.

With the M division stripes you climb onboard and feel like you could be entering the Le Mans 24 hr race .

On the road it feels much more responsive than a standard 635 but still rides smoothly with reassuring handling especially for an 80s car.

The engine sounds amazing and leaves you in no doubt that you are driving something special and even the strong Getrag gearbox is slick and positive.

There was an advert for BMW in the 70s and 80s and it said “Unbeatable BMW ” enough said.
