1993 Porsche 928 GTS
Sold from 1978 to 1995, the Porsche 928 was an immediate success with demand in the UK far outstripping supply. Originally intended to replace the company’s iconic 911, the 928 attempted to combine the power, poise, and handling of a sports car with the refinement, comfort, and equipment of a luxury saloon to create what some Porsche executives thought would be a vehicle with wider appeal than the compact, quirky and sometimes difficult 911.
The GTS version became available in early 1992 with changed bodywork, larger front brakes and a new tuned 5.4 Litre engine producing 350bhp and only 195 examples were sold RHD in the UK making this a very rare model and highly collectible.
This original UK car was first registered on the 1st August,1993 supplied through Porsche Reading, it has had four owners from new with the current owner taking possession some 19 years ago .
The history file contains the original service books and book pack including a service history totalling 26 service stamps.
A very rare car and the best and last of the breed; with Porsche celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 928 is now recognised as an iconic part of the brand.
On the road the power is sensational and with 0-60 mph in 5 secs it will give many a modern supercar owner a scare.
Such an easy car to drive but also handling and refinement is terrific for a 25 year old car.
