1974 Triumph TR6 – Sold

Ending a terrific line of models the TR6 finished production in 1976 and all subsequent models like the TR7 had unfortunately lost the Sixties feel and looks of the original TR range.

So the TR6 was the end of an era of iconic cars.

This car has a Heritage certificate showing build of 1974 and export to USA.

Like many it returned to the UK in the 1990s and restored bodily /chassis  by renowned TR specialists to a high standard around 98/99.

It remains in superb condition today and has benefitted from ongoing upgrades and maintenance over the past years including a Triumph 5 speed gearbox, brake upgrade, Stage 2 Tuned cylinder head producing 150 bhp on the carburettors fitted to USA models, standard USA cars are 105bhp without the tuning.

Recent work has included new mohair hood and a full service in May.

There is a comprehensive history with the car including photos of the restoration and invoices, mots etc.

Finished in French Blue she looks very pretty with the new hood and sits very well with a rust free body proving that the restoration work carried out was thorough.

Once on the move the tuned cylinder head really shows its value as it accelerates effortless with a lovely rasp from the exhaust and cruising at high speeds is particularly relaxed with the high top gear offered on the Triumph 5 speed gearbox.

So overall a fast, fun TR6 at good value for its excellent condition ready to be used and enjoyed in any modern circumstances.
