Triumph were on a roll with a range of cars suiting most needs in the 1970’s.

The only one they didn’t have was something to challenge the BMW 2002 which had taken the world by storm with its compact design and super sporty performance.

The engineers soon designed and built a multi-valve engine and upgraded the gearbox, chassis and brakes and ended up with a super compact, fast, fun BMW challenger.

The engine even won Design Council awards and at around £1000 cheaper than a 2002 this car was a force to be reckoned with even Bodie drove a white one in the tv programme The Professionals!

She had a professional restoration a few years ago and there is a photographic record of this and all subsequent work.

During the work some upgrades were integrated including: 

• Unleaded cylinder head with high lift cam
• Stainless steel exhaust
• Polybushing throughout ,adjustable shocks,springs etc
• Twin electronic fuel pumps /new tank /E5 compatible fuel lines

• DVD sat nav module inc reverse camera

Today she is a pretty bright car finished from new in Inca yellow with a lovely interior and ready to be enjoyed on a daily basis.

Still a joy to drive today despite her age with 0-60 around 8 seconds it keeps up with any modern traffic and feels sporty with a well developed chassis set up ,no doubt assisted by the many race versions that were campaigned successfully.
