The ancestry of the Alfa Romeo Duetto started with the Pininfarina designed Spider Speciale Aerodynamica shown at the 1961 Turin Motor Show. Concept to production took a little longer in those days so the Duetto only came into fruition in 1966. Initially it was not well received and quickly earned the nickname ‘Osso di Seppoa’ (cuttlefish). The name ‘Duetto’ came about from a competition held by Alfa Romeo to distinguish the car from its Giulia 105 series stable mates, the coupé and berlina and was accepted for its reference to the two seat layout.
This stunning Uk supplied RHD example was supplied in 1968 and had a rotisserie restoration in 2014 at a well known classic car specialist involving body/chassis /mechanical work including engine and gearbox rebuilds with around 2000 miles covered since .
The standard of workmanship was very high and she presents just as well today as 2014 and the underside is in body colour and stunning unlike many Spiders on the market.
There are confirmatory letters from Alfa ref original build etc and she was always blue and there is a very comprehensive history file with invoices and mots spanning decades.
