1979 FORD CORTINA MK4 2.3 S BEST AVAILABLE – £35,950

The Cortina was the most popular and price conscious saloon car in the 1970s
Other makes like the Morris Marina, Hillman Avenger and Triumphs were poor relations in comparison and Ford led the way in terms of quality and drive ability.
The 2.3 S was produced for the sporty driver and with the gutsy V6, gas sports suspension, power steering was a great drive although at over £4000 quite pricey
With low production numbers the 2.3 S was a rare car even in the 70 s and 80s but now there are only a couple of known examples left in the UK.
This stunning orange example was owned by the last owner for over 12 years and has enjoyed a comprehensive bare shell restoration retaining as much of the original framework as possible
There’s a good history file and usb stick with restoration details.
Over £60k was spent making this the best most sorted Cortina I have ever seen and quality and detail was high on the agenda during the work so finish and paint quality is second to none and the interior finished in black leather really improves the whole feel of the car compared with the standard Ford interiors of the 1970s.
On the road she is an easy fun drive with a very torquey V6 ,ultra slick gearbox and positive rack and pinion power steering.
She has a tuned Haywood and Scott stainless exhaust that sounds glorious but not obtrusive and poly bush suspension completes the picture.
