1963 PORSCHE 356B SUPER – SOLD

The 356 is acknowledged as Porsche’s first venture into production and was a lightweight and nimble rear-engined, rear-wheel-drive, two-door sporting car available in hardtop coupé and open configurations. Engineering and design innovations continued during the years of manufacture, contributing to its motorsports success and its popularity as a road car. The model was created by Ferdinand “Ferry” Porsche (son of Dr.Ing. Ferdinand Porsche, founder of the company), based on an original design by Porsche employee Erwin Komenda.

Today, the Porsche 356 is a highly regarded collector’s car.

Supplied and living in California until coming to the UK in 2016 this lovely example was built in Black with black interior and upgraded with the more desirable C spec engine later but the originally supplied unit with matching number is available with the car.

There is a super history file with plenty of Californian invoices from 356 specialists showing ongoing maintenance and gearbox/engine work but she has only ever received light restoration as is the normal situation with genuine California based cars.

The COA is present as is the original drivers handbook/registration plates.

There are lovely details around the car including the original Chrome wheels, Becker radio and the correct style carpet etc.

On the road, it’s amazing that she is nearly 60 years old with an eager free revving engine making swift progress and all controls belying its age.

Supplied fully inspected, serviced with 12 months warranty.
