The Japanese didn’t take long to catch up on the car design and manufacturing business and the 240Z was its first worldwide success story appealing to everyone from Europeans to Americans.

Launched in 1969 and finishing production in 1974 it was heralded as the must have GT of the day and for good reason when you consider that it was only a  couple of hundred pounds more than its competitors such as the MG B and Gt6 which were quite out dated by the 1970s.

Having such a beautifully designed machine like the 240Z really helped the image of the Japanese brands and enthusiasts finally accepted that these cars were special.

Weighing only 1000kg and with a smooth 2.5 litre six cylinder producing 150 bhp the performance was really good and way ahead of its time compared to its competition even the 5 speed gearbox was impressive compared to the clunky 4 speeds with overdrive most cars were fitted with.

This stunning example was supplied to Australia as a right hand drive and lived in that great climate with one family until being imported in 2005 when the next owner moved to Uk and brought the car with him.

Having reaped the benefit of living in Australia this beautiful car has remained in superb condition having only had a repaint 12 years ago and not welded with replacement panels up like the majority of rhd cars living in Europe

There have been no modifications and she even has the original stereo /steering wheel and interior trim still looking stylish after all these years.

On the road she is great fun and so easy to drive quickly with lots of torque and a great gearbox making it a fun experience and you could  cruise long distances with little effort.
