1988 FIAT X1 9 BERTONE – 50,000 MILES – SOLD
Designed by Bertone but first built in huge numbers(150,000) by Fiat from1972-81 and then Bertone themselves from 1982-88 with only 19,000 built
The X1 9 was a superbly packaged small Mid-engined sports car originally a concept car for the motor show circuit but there was enough interest to begin production in 1972.
With a weight of only 880kg and a revvy 1500cc engine, it was an instant success with customers and seen by many as a poor mans Ferrari much in the way the British Gt6 was seen as a poor mans E Type!
This stunning red example has been owned for 25 years by the same enthusiast and maintained superbly as necessary but never being restored.
The history file has every mot certificate and service invoices from the early 1990s to date.
Original handbook, tools are included.
On the road, there is no mistaking this is a well developed mid-engined car with superb road holding belying its age.
She is very nimble and puts many competitors of the period to shame.
Once the top is stored under the front bonnet she becomes a lovely summertime experience.
Supplied fully inspected, serviced with 12 months warranty.
