1996 PORSCHE 993 TARGA MANUAL – 98,000 MILES – SOLD
Some say the last of the true Porsches was the 993 ending production in 1997 and the final version of the famous air-cooled engine design.
The Targa was introduced in late 1995 and provided an extremely practical version of the series with a fabulous glass roof covering the entire roof area and ingeniously folding back in its entirety giving an open-top sensation for the driver and passengers.
This is the original UK supplied car with air-con and the 17-inch alloys which were the only version recommended by Porsche on the Targa model.
Also being a 1996 model it has the much improved and more powerful Varioram engine.
Finished in probably the best combination of Iris blue with Marble grey leather interior she still looks stunning today with resplendent paintwork.
Options included hardback Sports seats, high-level brake lamp, rear wiper and cd player.
The original service and handbooks are available including service invoices with main Porsche and specialist dealers on a frequent basis without the large time gaps you often find with classic 911s!
She has enjoyed ongoing maintenance as necessary inc complete clutch replacement, full air-con update and refurbishment.
On the road, the 993 is a combination of traditional air-cooled power with confident but stable handling through its thoroughly developed chassis.
The gearbox is a slick 6 speed and clutch control easy and light making the whole driving experience very pleasurable and it’s amazing how capable and quick this car still is.
Many 993s on the market have covered over 150,000 miles plus and they are so over-engineered that they will go on forever.
With its service history and low mileage, this is amongst the best available and is sure to rise in value in line with the other iconic Porsches.
Supplied fully inspected, serviced with 12 months warranty.
