After years of mass producing the 1800cc B GT it was about time MG finally built an exciting variant especially after the unpopular C model which did not fulfil the needs of the sporting enthusiast.

Costello Engineering were the first to produce a modified B roadster fitted with the ubiquitous Rover V8 and Abingdon effectively stole the concept and put the GT into production in 1972.

The end result was a really special performance car very popular with enthusiasts and even the motoring press.

The last cars were completed in 1975 with a total number of 1800 chrome bumper cars built and only 206 finished in this stunning Citron Yellow colour.

This lovely 7 owner example left the factory in March 1974 but only sold in September that year to a London buyer.

The history file documents continual maintenance with some invoices dating back to the 70s and 80s complete with an original owners manual.

She has recently had a mechanical overhaul costing around £7,000 including rebuilt gearbox and overdrive, stainless steel exhaust, radiator, water pump, suspension etc.

Although not concours she is in superb condition and a strong driver with a very tight chassis.

On the road the V8 roars and provides plenty of grunt propelling her unlike any other MG with high speed cruising easily achieved with the overdrive gearbox.

Supplied fully inspected and with a 12 month comprehensive warranty.
