British car maker Rover launched their P6 in 1963 at The Earls Court Motor Show. A superbly modern, fashionable and striking design that was well received by the attendees of the show; media and public alike.

The P6 only a year later was awarded European Car of the year, due to its pretty design and mechanical prowess. From the De Dion tube rear suspension, disc brakes all round, aluminium panels used on the bonnet and the boot lid she was very much a sports car, and very much enjoyed by the young executives in period. In 1968 a Buick derived 3528cc V8 was offered, a leap forward from the initial 4 cylinder offering and further growing the cars reputation.

FLM were very well respected in their field of building estate cars famously taking Aston Martins and converting them into ‘shooting brakes’ my dad had one in the 1970S

This lovely car we have for sale has undergone a full restoration, starting in summer 2017 and not long finished now looking beautiful for it. It was a very well done restoration and correspondence in the file show that if an original aspect of the car could be kept it was, rather than just replacing the old with the new. Properly done.

An appropriate change to the gearbox was made putting in the more desirable, and fuel efficient SD1 5-speed manual over the less comfortable original 4-speed. The lovely webasto sunroof works perfectly as you would expect and the V8 grumble is oh-so good.

She is very rare, designed fabulously, has a V8 engine and sits beautifully in her striking dark blue. Certainly a car that is needed to be seen.

On the road she performs beautifully with a great V8 sound track and the 5 speed gearbox makes long distance cruising easy.
