1970 ROLLS ROYCE SILVER SHADOW – 144,000 MILES – £17,950

Replacing the 1950s designed S series range of cars was a priority for Rolls Royce and when launched in 1965 the Silver Shadow went down a storm with its more contemporary design and technical features.

The first generation used an RR designed 4-speed gearbox but it was fairly old fashioned and was soon replaced in 1968 by an American GM 3 speed box which was smooth and well-matched to the V8 engine.

This beautiful example was built in December 1969 and delivered as most were to a central London customer at just below £8000 in January 1970.

You can purchase a Silver Shadow for well under £10k today but those cars are very likely to be rusty, unreliable and requiring fortunes to keep running at all!

The alternative is a cherished car such as this one which has 2 files full of service and maintenance information over the past 50 years chronologically listed including invoices, a diary from previous owners, spreadsheets etc.

She has been superbly maintained as necessary over the years inc an engine rebuild, gearbox refresh and most consumables replaced.

She still even has the original music system 8 track in place and the interior smells as they did in 1970.

A Harvey Bailey handling kit was fitted in 1995 and really does improve the handling and tightens up the chassis so you can drive her quickly across country.

She is one of the nicest Shadows I have driven over 40 years with very strong mechanicals and excellent on the bodywork, interior and details around the car.

Supplied fully inspected, serviced with 12 months comprehensive warranty.
